Sierra Sugar Co was founded by Reno local Ashley Schindler (formerly Amezcua). Ashley graduated from Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts in 2009 where she fell in love with sugar and pâtisserie. She spent the next ten years working as a culinary professional in New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego and back home in Reno. She worked in many areas of the culinary world including a brief externship at a NYC restaurant specializing in molecular gastronomy. It was here where the sweet dream of cotton candy was first seeded. In her mind, cotton candy was an extraordinarily underrated molecular miracle that needed re imagining.
